Title: Timeline view is always logged-out.
Status: Closed Type: Code_Defect
Severity: Severe Priority:
Subsystem: Resolution: External_Bug
Last Modified: 2011-03-24 10:47:50
Version Found In: [c38a726932]
Description:
When I log in to any fossil repository -- both my own and the one at fossil-scm.org -- I'm shown as Logged in as username on any page except the timeline view. I'm always shown as Not logged in with the added blurb about how links aren't going to work, etc. If I click on "login" from that page, I go to a page that tells me I'm logged in where I'm asked if I want to change my password or log out.

It doesn't appear to matter how I get to the timeline view. I can go from the Timeline link, through the Branches link off of a branch (say, trunk) or anything else -- when I hit the timeline view, I'm shown as logged-off and can't click to follow.

I can confirm this on build [c38a726932] (the build used at the main site) and [c92ec16f81] (the last build I put up on my remote repository site).

I've attached two screenshots to show what I mean. The first screenshot is a view of this very ticket. I've circled in red where it says I'm logged in. The second shot is taken seconds later after clicking on "Timeline" with no other actions in between. I've circled the fact that I'm not logged in and the consequences of this.

The problem turns out to have been a very bad and complicated interaction between a proxy script used to circumvent overzealous censors in China and some clumsy fingers when entering data for the script.

Fossil is blameless and works exactly as designed.
